Seems pretty imaginable to me – a couple of airplanes bound for North America disappear over the Atlantic. By the time you can get a search party to the ends of the radar tracks, there’s nothlng left but floating corpses, severed limbs, and buoyant jetliner parts strewn over maybe a hundred square miles of water.
A few hundred passengers presumed dead.
What do we gain from this kind of hyperbole on the part of civil authorities? It’s not as if things are any better here in the US.
